The work entails the design of an urban terrace, located in the heart of Buenos Aires city’s historic center, and assembled on the vertical face of a heritage building.
Surrounded by impressive, ancient and immense domes and belfries, the terrace appears silent and minimal. It is a manifestation of these two scales: the individual pedestrian scale and the vertical but contemplative dimension of the environment.
The Project design is marked by 3 main elements: a perimeter low wall, a continuous green and the pool/floor area.
The low wall surrounds the space, hides flower pots from view, serves as bench and creates a more intimate free central space. The green frames this space and compensates for party walls height. The pool space provides a sunbathing sector, a large-scale hard bed and all the pool filtering system.
The Project is based on a 50x50 cm modulation applied to the flooring, the benches and the plant pots.
